You Fong Wu (Thomas)

Thomas Wu was fantastic. Calm, collected, informative and funny. He was very organized and provided directions every step of the way, from mini maps to photos for direction references and food recommendations and more. He took group photos of our tour group at each attraction. The bus is also comfortable and air conditioned. We did the Yeliou, Shifen Waterfall, Shifen Old Street and Chiufen (Jiufen) package (11:15 - 20:30). We loved all of the attractions, but we’re outdoorsy people so the Yehliu Geopark was one of our favorites. That being said, it would have been nice to have more time there. Jioufen was very neat as well. Highly recommend the taro balls (the view from where they have seating is gorgeous), oolong tea, and fish balls. Thomas was at the tea house and was very helpful there as well. Only caveat was the amount of people on the steps (very crowded). Wear comfortable shoes and clothing, and be prepared for the weather. Then again, there’s colourful ponchos sold everywhere!

I took the tour with Thomas Wu today, starting from New Taipei City, and ending in Jiufen. The trip was definitely rough due to the downpour we were experiencing, but Thomas was a wealth of information throughout it all. He was a very charismatic and thoughtful guide, if I took another tour in the area, he would 100% be a top pick!

Thomas was one of the best, if not the best, tour guide I’ve had across my travels! He kept up his energy during the entire trip, maintaining a great atmosphere both during the bus ride and the tour. We got lost twice and he helped navigate us to the correct place by dropping Google Maps pins. He had great suggestions, great jokes, and WE had a great time. I genuinely think the tour wouldn't have been quite as great without him!

I have never encountered such an enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide - I’ve been to many places but Thomas Wu is I consider one of the best, well in fact the best ☺️. This tour made me think to come back to Taiwan again. Me and my parents had a very pleasant experience - he is fluent in English and I can really tell that he is passionate in his job. Great communication skills with a side of humour as well.

Excellent tour guide!!! Highly recommend if you want to have an amazing experience. Thomas takes care of everyone and makes sure to give us as much information as possible in order for us to get the full picture. Me and boyfriend really enjoyed this activity.

We had a really great time on the Yehliu–Shifen–Jiufen tour with Thomas Wu. He was super friendly and shared lots of fun facts and local insights. We also got a lot of steps in that day, which made the experience even more fun and memorable. Highly recommended! 😊
